第叁部 第八课: flip out , off my back
- 今天李华来到洗衣店洗衣服，正好碰上的 Michael. 他们两个人一边洗衣服一边聊天，Michael 教给李华两个常用语： flip out 和 off my back。

- 哎，Michael, 你最近跟你邻居处得怎麼样啊？他们是不是还每天晚上吵的很厉害啊？
- It's funny you should mention that. Last night they had their music turned on so loud that I finally just flipped out and went over there and yelled at them.
- 嗯，我觉得啊你做的对，你终於啊去吼吼他们了。疑？可是你刚才说你 flipped out，那是什麼意思啊？是不是指你气疯了的意思呢？
- Yeah, to flip out means to go crazy because you are so angry about something. People sometimes flip out because they just can't stand anymore.
- 哎哟，你也真可怜，忍了这麼多个星期以后啊，终於忍无可忍要对他们发火了。
- I know, I really don't like to complain about my neighbors, but it was so loud, my windows were shaking.
- 我真不敢相信，之前你到底是怎麼忍下来的，你怎麼能够唸书呢？更别说是晚上要睡觉了。

- Not very well. The girl just yelled at me and said 「get off my back」. I think I'm going to have to talk to the apartment company.
- 天啊，他们不但不向你道歉，还对着你吼啊。疑？不过，你说那个女孩说 「get off my back」 是什麼意思啊？
- To 「get off my back」 means to leave me alone or stop bugging me about something. Get, g-e-t, Off, o-f-f, my back, b-a-c-k.
- 哦～，所以要是你说 「get off my back」 就是说：少管我閒事或者说别為了什麼事来烦我。
- She told me to get off her back, because they were just having friends over and listening to some music.
- 哦～，所以当你告诉别人 get off my back, 除了要他别来烦你，也表示你认為自己没做错事。
- That's right, Li Hua. Well, I mean her roommate was a little more polite to me. She said they would turn the music down a little bit. But a couple hours later, they just turned it back up again.

- I think I've got to call the apartment company now. I don't care if that girl told me to get off her back.

- 今天在洗衣的时候， Michael 告诉李华说他的邻居实在是太吵了，所以他就 flip out 对她「大喊大叫」，可是这位邻居却告诉他「别管閒事儿」，要他 get off her back。
回上一层
